Concentrating solar power – inexhaustible, sustainable and accessible – is an ideal source of energy for commercial, industrial, institutional and agricultural applications.

Concentrating solar power (CSP) installations involve the use of multiple mirrored surfaces to concentrate a large amount of solar thermal energy onto a single point. This creates heat or electrical power, which can be used for a variety of applications.

Why not flat panel solar?

Common flat panel installations require 2 1/2 times more space than CSP units, since they operate at much lower efficiency. CSP installations are capable of 78 percent optical efficiency and 28 percent electrical efficiency; flat panel installations typically reach around 12 percent electrical efficiency. This makes CSP ideal for larger energy users like schools, office buildings, agricultural buildings, hospitals and factories, particularly in urban areas where space is at a premium, and in remote locations where maintenance is difficult.

CEWA Technologies produces point concentrators – compact, affordable CSP units that utilize a primary mirror to efficiently heat a working fluid, generate electricity, or do both at the same time. We make two dish sizes (large, 30 kW thermal/10 kW electric; small, 9.5 kW thermal, 3.3 kW electric), both of which feature unique dual-axis solar tracking and are manufactured using common techniques. Neither requires government subsidies to lock in today’s energy prices for decades.
